A note to our customers,

Like the rest of the business community we at R&D Services have been taking steps to ensure our operations are compliant with all governement COVID-19 guidance.

As a business we have introduced new procedures and rules (below) to ensure the work we undertake is carried out safely until such time there are new updates from the governments.

The safety of our staff and customers has always been paramount to us at R&D Services and we believe these provisions will allow us to maintain social distancing as much as possible whilst continuing to provide a quality service.

Guidelines & procedures for all jobs within a property

 

R & D Services are focused on keeping our staff and customers safe whilst working to the best of our abilities during these challenging times. As the situation unfolds, we are continually adapting and putting in place new operational plans to keep everyone safe and our service levels high. Please find our procedures and measures below.

 

Engineer procedures for carrying out jobs

In regards to the current circumstances please see the below information prior to our engineer visit and confirm that all procedures will be complied with.

  • If there is anyone within the property showing any signs or has coronavirus (COVID-19)(Fever & tiredness, continues cough, breathing difficulties &/or loss of small/taste) please let R&D know immediately and do not let the engineer enter.
  • While the engineer is within your property it would be appreciated that you are not in the same room as them while they carry out the job and kept a minimum of 2 meter distance at all times.
  • Can you possible open the window in the room where the engineer will be working to increase ventilation.
  • Can you please make sure the area around the item of repair/installation is clear of obstructions and clean to allow our engineers to work safely.
  • Can you leave all internal doors pinned open on the route to place of work to minimise engineer contact with door handles
  • If there are more than 1 person within the property please only let 1 person interact with the engineer.

Guidelines & procedures for all jobs going forward (on-site staff)

 

R & D Services are focused on keeping our staff and customers safe whilst working to the best of our abilities during these challenging times. As the situation unfolds, we are continually adapting and putting in place new operational plans to keep everyone safe and our service levels high. Please find our procedures and measures below.

Engineer procedures for carrying out jobs

  • Arrive at site and look up full job details on your phone
  • Put on face mask & gloves and proceed to job
  • When you first meet the customer please discuss/inform the customer of the below,
  • Discuss if anyone in the property has coronavirus or coronavirus symptoms.  If the answer is yes, do not continue with the work and call manager.
  • Inform the customer while you are within their property it would be appreciated that they are not in the same room as you while carrying out the works and to kept a minimum of 2 meter distance for each other at all times.
  • Ask customer to make sure the area around the item of repair/installation is clear of obstructions and clean to allow work to progress safely.
  • Open window (if not already open) for increased ventilation and air circulation
  • Carry out your job (remember customer should be in a different room from you at this point)
  • If you require material(s) to complete the job please call supplier and book out material(s) prior to travelling.
  • Once the job is complete, remove gloves and bin, wash your hands thoroughly for 20 seconds and dry with paper towel (hand wash & paper towels provided by R&D Services). If you are on a job for over an hour you should wash your hands regularly during the works, i.e. every hour.
  •  

* Where facilities to wash hands are not available, hand wipes and hand sanitiser provided by R&D should be used.

  • Update customer work is complete and ask their full name and input that into your phone (You do not require a signature for the foreseeable future, just the customers name)
  • Return to van and use hand sanitiser before you enter your van
  • Remove mask and keep in clean place (dispose of mask after each shift)

General Notes for engineers

  • Phone office before your shift starts and speak to relevant person who will update you if you have any materials to pick up and run through your job list. If no materials are to be picked up please head straight to you first job.
  • Clean your phone with disposable wipes (wipes provided by R&D Services)
  • All vans must be kept clean at all times including your windows and door handles
  • No rubbish must be left in vans, rubbish must be put straight into the on-site bins
  • Regularly clean your tools
  • Your work clothes should be washed more regular than normal (i.e after every shift)

Office staff procedures for booking in jobs

  • Ask customer if they or anyone within the property have or are showing any signs of coronavirus (COVID-19) (Fever, tiredness, continues cough, breathing difficulties or lack of taste/smell).
  • Inform customers that the area around the item of repair must be clear of obstructions and clean to allow our engineers to work safely.
  • While engineer is within your property it would be appreciated that you are not in the same room as him while they are carry out the repair and kept a minimum of 2 meter distance at all times.
  • Asking that customer to leave all internal doors to be pinned open to minimise engineer contact with door handles.
  • Ask customer to leave the window of the room the engineer will be working in open for increased ventilation

 

General office staff information

  • No cash payments (pay over internet – See bottom left hand corner of invoice for bank details).
  • Customer keys that are to be dropped off must be dropped off through the letter box then cleaned with wipes before stored in key box.
  • Down stairs door must be kept locked at all times.
  • Clean your desk and area around desk daily (inc pc, keyboard & phone)
  • No delivery drivers to enter the office. If they buzz to gain access R&D staff member must collect delivery outside and do not sign their PDA, if you have to sign a paper copy please use your own pen.
